I recently purchased the Sony 55mm F1.8 Sonnar T FE ZA Full Frame Prime Lens and I’m very impressed with the quality of the lens. The Carl Zeiss contrast and resolution brings out the best in my α7 series full frame E-mount bodies. The T* coating works to suppress internal reflections, giving me sublime contrast from highlights to deep blacks. The large F1.8 maximum aperture produces beautiful full-frame background bokeh, and I can also stop down for extended depth-of-field. The linear motor driven internal focusing is smooth and quiet, and the dust and moisture resistant design ensures consistently reliable performance. The circular aperture blades used in this lens create a smoother, more natural defocusing effect. The aspherical lens design dramatically reduces spherical aberration while also reducing lens size and weight.
